On one lucky day he meets the wounded bird he names Bigbird. He realized he had to help Bigbird because he was still young and didn’t even know how to fish Jeffrey meets amazing creatures every day, but he never thought he would become best friends with a pelican.

Animals left without their family often cannot learn the basics of survival on their own. Bigbird had to learn how to fish because it was very important to his existence.
“When he was about a year old, I started teaching him to fish because he didn’t have his colony to show him how. I had to go out fishing for him anyway, and I thought that if I brought him with me I might awaken some of his natural fishing instincts.”
The great success
In the video below you can see the beautiful moment when Big Bird finally learns to catch his own food. Jeffrey puts a camera to the top of the pelican’s large beak, allowing viewers to observe Big Bird’s flight. The video also shows the bird actively fishing, feeding and flapping its wings while perched on Jeffrey’s back. Like any parent, Jeffrey is proud when Big Bird finally catches his first fish
“I was really happy for him,” Jeffrey says. Such unusual friendships happen all the time, but they don’t always get recorded. Viewers around the world are lucky that Jeffrey and Bigbird have shared their adventures online. From flying to fishing, this bird sure seems at home with his best friend.
